Good grafitti versus bad – what it means for your area

Good grafitti and urban art murals can boost an area, giving it an individual stamp of identity and allowing for a little artistic freedom of expression. Bad grafitti blights a neighbourhood, attracting even more ugly scribbles, vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

So for the exciting news: we have just been given permission to change this ugly eyesore spoiling the view at the end of Ruskin Park from this:

Estate Agency South East London

The view is not good from here: a bad case of grafitti in our beloved Ruskin Park

Into something along the lines of the following great pieces of urban art you can find around Brixton, Camberwell, Peckham and beyond. Have a look at these beauties:

Urban art is everywhere at the moment. There’s even a new ‘grafitti garden’ at the latest watering hole in town – The Yard on Coldharbour lane, closest to Loughborough Junction.
Who says art has to be paint on a canvas?
